General description |
Horn Humus carries with it the formative (or formation) forces in calcium. Too much of it in a field will alter the structure of the plants on which it is sprayed. It will also alter the fertility of the field causing the release of many nutrients previously unavailable. Short term, this can be desirable. But long term, this can lead to severe depletion of calcium and other minerals in the soil. Only by remineralizing the soil with a complete composting and cover cropping program can this be avoided.
