General Appearance |
Eggs laid in the growing point of grass, hatch in spring and the larvae begin to eat the growing tip of the leaf. The result is bear patches and few runners with stunted look. The plant becomes straggly and weak. It can be easily pulled out and is often mistaken for a nutrient problem. The best visual sign consists of clouds of little black flies, appearing above the lawn when it is walked on. (3)
